Seattle residents are lucky to call several celebrities neighbors, from singers to athletes to tech moguls and beyond. Naturally, behind these wealthy and successful stars are some notably extravagant living quarters. Here are four homes that stand out as some of the most luxurious.
1. Hope Solo
The world champion and Olympic gold medalist goalie is selling her stunning Kirkland home on the banks of Lake Washington for $1.85 million dollars. The property has mountain and city views, four bedrooms, a chef’s kitchen and is 5,300 sq. ft. While this alone might seem like an impressive home, it’s really the full size tennis court with a basketball hoop, two 3-car garages, the pool and hot tub, the wine cellar, and the two fireplaces that make it truly extravagant.
2. Randy Bachman
Randy Bachman of the band Bachman-Turner Overdrive (you know them as the singers of “Takin’ Care of Business”) and his family originally meant for their home to be a weekend retreat, but it has now become their main living space. And who could blame them? This Tudor style house boasts eight bedrooms and 14,796 sq. ft. There’s a recording studio on the property, so that Randy could work from home, and minimalist decor. Additionally, the house has an 8-car garage, bowling alley, full basketball court and a small lake.
3. Russell Wilson and Ciara
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and singer Ciara just bought an opulent home, also on the banks of Lake Washington. For the $6.7 million dollar purchase, they get a 10,740 sq. ft. home with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, along with a private waterfront and dock. Along with its luxurious features, such as spiral staircases and beautiful chandeliers, the new home also has a movie theater and a 1,200 bottle wine cellar. It is in the same neighborhood as the next mansion, arguably the most extravagant home in the area.
4. Bill Gates
Microsoft CEO Bill Gates built his mansion on the banks of Lake Washington. This home could legitimately be a hotel, with 24 bathrooms (10 with tubs), a 23-car garage and a reception hall of 23,000 sq. ft. The house is outfitted with technology that allows residents and guests to use a personalized pin that can change the temperature, music and lighting of a room upon entrance depending on individual preferences. The house also includes a trampoline room, a pool with an underwater sound system, and a large gym, among many other amazing amenities.
