Introducing David Eastern
This month I spoke with one of the most impressive real estate agents in the Seattle area, David Eastern from Windermere Real Estate. For three years in a row, new homeowners in Seattle have identified David as one of the top real estate agents in the area.
I had the privilege of working with David on a purchase recently; he came across as exceptionally professional. I could tell very quickly that he was good at his craft, and I admire the way he proactively runs his business.
David, you’ve been a real estate agent in the Seattle area since 1994. In that time, what have you discovered are some of unique qualities in the Seattle housing market?
We are very fortunate to live in an area that offers so many recreational and occupational opportunities. I consistently hear from people relocating to Seattle that these are truly unique to the Seattle area, and they’re what makes Seattle so appealing.
The real estate market has gone through some dramatic ups and downs over the course of your career. What do you think buyers are most interested in these days?
Interest rates are historically low, and prices have adjusted to a point where buyers are able to buy homes at an extraordinary price. The combination creates a lot of sales activity in and around the Seattle real estate market.
I know more and more real estate agents are incorporating new technologies and social technologies into their business. What, if any, technologies do you use on a regular basis?
It’s pretty clear that Facebook, Linkedin, Active Rain, Social Bios and other social media sites are the wave of the future. Also, we’ve put a lot of time and energy into creating a very user friendly and useful website.
What areas of Seattle are “hot” right now?
Lakemont, West Bellevue and Greenlake: these are the three areas that continue to see healthy real estate markets.
On the other hand, what are some undiscovered gems in Seattle?
Well, Lakemont and Montreux are still the best communities to buy. Excellent schools, easy commuting and strong sense of community.
If there is one piece of advice you could give to a new home-buyer, what would it be?
Find a good agent to help you through the process. It is a big decision and you want a seasoned professional to help you.
Thanks for talking with me, David! It’s always inspiring to chat with such impressive professionals.
